It’s important to understand that training is a lifestyle, and not just a period of time during your dog’s life. Everything you do daily with your dog is shaping it’s mindset and behaviours, so this can either maintain/continue the progress, or bring you back to square one. The choice is yours!

At Courteous Canine we focus on teaching both dogs and humans, guiding you on how to work with your dog’s unique personality and learning style. Our training prioritizes the state of mind, creating healthy emotional responses and coping mechanisms which shape the behaviours our dogs display. This may include things like making changes to routines at home, commands you may or may not already use, and allowances that you give or withhold from your dog. There is no magic wand in dog training, just dedication and consistency in order to progress towards, achieve, and maintain results.

We use a booking system called ProPet which allows clients to create a profile for themselves and their pups, uploading all vaccine and health information as well as waivers and documents directly to the server. On this system you can submit booking requests directly for boarding and daycare services, send and receive messages, and view your account history!

Meet the Owner

Kiley opened Courteous Canine in 2018 after spending years in both the working dog and pet dog industries. She has since completed many continuing education experiences, travelling around Canada and the USA to learn from some of the industry’s leading trainers and behaviour modification specialists. On top of running her own business, Kiley also shares her knowledge as a Mentor in an online learning program educating other trainers on canine cognition and using neuroscience to compliment the training process.

From her years of experience with dogs in a variety of settings one thing became abundantly clear; people are struggling. People are struggling to get through the day with their overexcited, nervous, anxious, or out of control dogs, and there is a desperate need for guidance. Kiley’s passion for helping people and dogs live cohesively is what prompted her to narrow her focus and open her own business so that she could be that missing piece, helping families and dogs work towards living better, together.

Services

Courteous Canine offers Daycare & Day Training, Boarding, Family Immersion Training (private sessions), and Small Group Training, as well as Board+Train programs to fit the individual needs of their clients, whether you need basic guidance or a complete behaviour modification program. Together we can create a plan that best fits you and your goals!
